Believing that accepting help says something about your strength is a trap I know well. My own coaching work showed me how committed I am to being the one who gives and never the one who needs something, and I still wrestle with it. It's a lot easier for me to tell other people to ask for help than to do it myself. I love that you got to show a different way to the student who reached out to you. Thank you for writing this, Jeff.
Thank you for sharing that Jason, and I completely agree with you. It is so much easier to tell people that they need to ask for help than it is for me to ask for help.
I fall into that pit all the time. I will help people all day every day, and then at the end of the week think back on why I’m not always taking my own advice.
I’m so much better than I ever have been, especially now that I realize and believe that there are people who actually want to help me.

That’s just a long way of saying, I see you
Thank you, Jeff. I love that you've come to believe there are people who actually want to help you. It's a life-changing realization. ❤️👊
When did you learn to ask for help?
And what was the event that made you realize you can’t do it all alone?
