"Feedback is a gift." Is it really? Feedback can sting, especially when your mind is clouded by shame and low self-esteem. That's what made me resist it for so long. But after doing the hard work to clear away the shame and find my center, I stopped fighting. Only then could I truly see feedback for what it is: an opportunity for growth.
I remember my wave like that. It was Laguna Beach and I was smashed into the sand and swirled around like a rag doll, disoriented. What a powerful metaphor for centering yourself when confronted with a criticism.
