You're not the frog, you're the chef. Clever! Leaders blame the team for low standards, but they're the ones who slowly turned up the heat by tolerating small violations until they became the baseline. The Pattern-Environment Loop: you let something slide, it becomes acceptable, which reinforces the pattern, which strengthens the environment.

The Ready Set calls this Values-Based Integrity and Clarity Establishment: if you say you value accountability but ignore missed deadlines, you're teaching the team deadlines don't matter.

Every boundary you don't enforce becomes tomorrow's normal. Strong cultures require addressing small dysfunctions early, not waiting until everything collapses.
