You talk about the comfort zone and finding comfort in the familiar; I think this is why so many innovative companies and leaders put such a high value on curiosity. Curiosity draws you into the unknown. Curious people love change and the unknown, which is where you will live any time you're doing something new and innovative. Then the question becomes how good are you at navigating the unknown. Great post and looking forward to more context on the story about hanging on the cliff!

Change takes courage and energy. We have to be invested in the possibility of something else to expend that energy. My clients often face the resistance of their peers, their teams, or even their inner dialogue. When they see how the way they think and hear is enforcing their prison cell, the ways to exit it become clear.
