My bad day is being layed off and not have a job to have a bad day at...Either way, it is what it is and I am at peace. There is nothing I can do about it but look and look for another job.
I'm so sorry to hear that Cindy. But yes, you have the option to look at this as a gift. If not for this, the life that is waiting for you would never have happened.
I had a manager at a busy coffee shop, stop me during a huge, stressful rush. She held my face towards hers with both hands and kept repeating, "It's just a cup of coffee" until I calmed down. It felt like forever at the time, but was probably only seconds. For me, it was way easier and more fun to get the job done with a little perspective.
When I'm working with a newer race director and they start to get overstressed I make them stop and lie down against a wall with their feet sticking straight up until they cool their jets. A little breathing can pull a person back from the edge of panic in seconds and directly into calm zone just outside a minute.

Nice one Jeff. This has a poetic / lyrical quality to it...let's find you a poetry slam!
Glad you liked it!
Since I don’t know crap about proper grammatical structure, I write things as if I’m creating a song.
I experimented with incorporating different beats and cadences in coming up with this one. I like how it sings.

I might use that saying to remind myself every now and then.
"It's just a cup of coffee"
Coffee can be a symbolism for anything.
